Wild Petunia - Ruellia
humilis
This vary rare plant is naturally
found growing in dry soils, in mid-summer it
produces gorgeous violet coloured blossoms shaped
like floral trumpets. A short plant, it is
particularly well suited to rock gardens and
combines very well with shorter grasses such as
Prairie Dropseed in dry soil gardens.

GERMINATION INFO |
Cold, moist
stratification. Mix seed with moist but
not wet, sterile growing medium. Place
mixture in a labeled, sealed plastic bag
and store in refridgerator for six to
eight weeks. Note: Some seed may
germinate in the storage bag if moist
stratified too long. If sprouting occurs,
plant immediately. Another method is to
sow seed outdoors in late autumn so that
they may overwinter.
