Native people have long considered
Sweetgrass to be a sacred plant and it has played
an important role in sacred cermonies. Naturally
growing throughout most of North America, this
plant prefers sunny locations with rich, moist
soil. The scent of this plant is strongest when
planted in full sun. The leaves are at their most
aromatic when dried and made into braids and
burned as incense.
SEED
GERMINATION INFO
Cold, moist
stratification. Mix seed with moist but
not wet, sterile growing medium. Place
mixture in a labeled, sealed plastic bag
and store in refridgerator for six to
eight weeks. Note: Some seed may
germinate in the storage bag if moist
stratified too long. If sprouting occurs,
plant immediately. Another method is to
sow seed outdoors in late autumn so that
they may overwinter. Approx. 120 seeds per pack
