One of the earliest maturing
native grasses, it is also the one of the
shortest native grasses, Junegrass produces
lustrous silvery-green seedheads in early summer
making this plant stand out in the garden.
Requiring very dry soils, it makes an excellent
companion for short wildflowers such as Bird's
Foot Violet and Prairie Smoke.
