Commonly encountered in moist
woods and alongside streambeds, Smooth Aster is
one of the most attractive and long-lived of all
the asters. Blooming from September through late
October, it puts on a fabulous floral display
producing clusters of dainty blue flowers long
after most flowers are finished. A favourite
stopping spot for butterflies, this adaptable
aster does well in just about any well-drained
soil.
SEED
GERMINATION INFO
Cold, moist
stratification. Mix seed with moist but
not wet, sterile growing medium. Place
mixture in a labeled, sealed plastic bag
and store in refridgerator for six to
eight weeks. Note: Some seed may
germinate in the storage bag if moist
stratified too long. If sprouting occurs,
plant immediately. Another method is to
sow seed outdoors in late autumn so that
they may overwinter. Approx. 55,000 seeds per oz. - 100 seeds per pack
