Naturally occuring in moist areas,
this is one of the showiest of all the asters, it
produces clusters of large flowers ranging in
color from pink to deep purple, each with
distinct yellow-orange centres, at the end of
numerous branching stems. A late season nectar
source for a variety of butterflies! Prefers full
sun in moist, rich soil but will grow in a
variety of conditions.
SEED
GERMINATION INFO
Cold, moist
stratification. Mix seed with moist but
not wet, sterile growing medium. Place
mixture in a labeled, sealed plastic bag
and store in refridgerator for six to
eight weeks. Note: Some seed may
germinate in the storage bag if moist
stratified too long. If sprouting occurs,
plant immediately. Another method is to
sow seed outdoors in late autumn so that
they may overwinter. Approx. 66,000 seeds per oz. - 130 seeds per pack
