The huge lavender flowers of
Beardtongue put on a fabulous floral display in
the early summer. Often listed as rare species or
as endangered in the wild, this beautiful plant
needs a light, well-drained soil in full sun to
part shade and it is a favorite nectar source for
hummingbirds.
SEED
GERMINATION INFO
Cold, moist
stratification. Mix seed with moist but
not wet, sterile growing medium. Place
mixture in a labeled, sealed plastic bag
and store in refridgerator for six to
eight weeks. Note: Some seed may
germinate in the storage bag if moist
stratified too long. If sprouting occurs,
plant immediately. Another method is to
sow seed outdoors in late autumn so that
they may overwinter. Approx. 14,000 seeds per oz. - 40 seeds per pack
