Talks

Miriam Goldberger is a compelling and accomplished public speaker whose inspiring lectures energize and educate audiences at conferences, garden shows as well as at botanical gardens, bookstores and garden clubs throughout North America.

Miriam’s most popular lectures are:

1) Taming Wildflowers: From Seed to Vase - A Celebration, Guide & Users Manual

This inspirational workshop is a seductive celebration of wildflowers featuring lush photos from the author’s 100 acre flower farm. Attendees will learn how-to grow native wildflowers from seed and how to incorporate wildflowers into their gardens to support pollinators. They will also learn how to harvest fresh-cut flowers, design floral arrangements and create a DIY wildflower wedding.

  2) The Reel History of Lawn in North America: Transcending Traditional Turf
The typical North American lawn’s notorious reputation as an ecological nightmare is well founded. Until recently there was an underlying assumption that shallow rooted, sod lawns, dependent as they are on endless mowing, fertilizing and watering must be endured. This presentation examines the ecological, economic and aesthetic implications of our obsession with turf and shares easy, site-specific turf alternatives.

Skype Presentations!!

Thanks to the wonders of technology we can get together anytime, anyplace. If your horticultural society, Master Gardeners’ group, landscape architecture firm or conservation organization is interested in wildflowers, alternative turf, low maintenance, drought tolerant landscaping, growing wildflowers from seed, wildflower cutting gardens or wildflower floral design, let’s do this!

Easy on the budget and a great solution for last minute speaker cancellations!

Organizing a virtual speaking event is easy. Here’s what you’ll need:
1. A computer with a strong Internet connection at your meeting place.
2. A webcam with a microphone. Most laptops and tablets come with a built-in webcam.
3. Install Skype on your computer (it's free!) and set up an account.
4. A projector so that you can project the video image on a screen for the whole group to see, just as you would for a live presenter. If possible, you can also plug speakers into your computer so the group can hear better.

We can even do a 'virtual' booksigning!
If your group would like to buy Taming Wildflowers, Miriam can sign books before the event with personal inscriptions and ship them to you. Books would simply be ordered in advance through Wildflower Farm. Members can order individually, or just ask about ordering a quantity and having them all shipped in one box to one place. If your members already have books they'd like signed, Miriam can sign bookplates during our event, send those to you, and you can add the bookplates to your own books.

It’s really quite easy! Email info@wildflowerfarm.com or call toll free at 1 866 476 9453 between 8 am – 4 pm EST Monday through Friday for details.

Hope to hear from you soon!
